The Central Library is a Knowledge Centre which has rich resources mainly in Pure and Applied Science, Biological Science, Humanities, Education and Paramedical & Allied Health Sciences. It is situated in the midst of the academic complex of the college and is the hub of all the academic activities of the college and provides comprehensive access to books, journals, reports, e-journal/online databases, e-books, electronic thesis and dissertations. The Central Library is knowledge hub of Midnapore City College. It provides comprehensive access to books, journals, thesis and dissertations, reports, surveys covering diverse disciplines.
The Central Library of Midnapore City College was started in a small room of the Institute in the year 2017. And it has grown in size and content to take the present shape. With the developments in computers and communication technologies, the behavioural characteristics of the information seekers have been changing rapidly
and the library is trying its best to adapt with the technological advancement. The library has been the lifeline of the academic activities of the Institute.
The Central Library is regarded as the heart of our institute to fulfil the informational needs of the users mainly towards the completion of their academic programmes.
The Central Library has two main collections i.e. print and soft copy collections. Print collection includes books, journals and soft copy collection mainly CD-ROMs, video cassettes.

The Committee takes decision for the overall development of the library, mainly collection, new procurement and renewal of all library resources. The Library Committee through regular meetings plans and assesses the needs of the library and decides on corrective actions provide improved library services.
