N-LIST E-resources access notice
All the faculty, research scholars, staffs and students are hereby notified that to download and utilize the E-journals, E-books under National Library and Information Service (N-LIST), they must come to college library to collect User Id and Password from 16/04/2021 to 30/04/2021. For only those who have membership cards.
Library Membership Notice for BMLT Students under VU.
The newly admitted BMLT students (Session 2020-2021) under Vidyasagar University are hereby notified that they can fill up their Library Membership Form by visiting the website of “Midnapore City College Library” by using their Unique Registration ID. After the fill up, they must submit the forms along with the documents mentioned in the membership form to Midnapore City College Library from 05/04/2021 to 17/04/2021. Who have collected library cards can ignore this.
History of MCC Library
The Central Library is a Knowledge Centre which has rich resources mainly in Social Sciences, Humanities and Sciences. It is situated in the midst of the academic complex of the college and is the hub of all the academic activities of the college and provides comprehensive access to books, journals, reports, e-journal/online databases, e-books, electronic theses and dissertations.The Central Library is knowledge hub of Midnapore City College. It provides comprehensive access to books, journals, theses and dissertations, reports, surveys covering diverse disciplines.
The Central Library of Midnapore City College was started in a small room of the Institute in the year 2017. And it has grown in size and content to take the present shape. With the developments in computers and communication technologies, the behavioural characteristics of the information seekers have been changing rapidly and the library is trying its best to adapt with the technological advancement. The library has been the lifeline of the academic activities of the Institute.
The Central Library is regarded as the heart of our institute to fulfil the informational needs of the users mainly towards the completion of their academic programmes.
The Central Library has two main collections i.e. print and soft copy collections. Print collection includes books and soft copy collection mainly CD-ROMs, video cassettes.Objectives
- To procure, organize and disseminate information in different formats.
- To support and promote the use of rich and diverse collection among the users.
- To preserve and house the collection for posterity.
- To enhance and support the academic environment by providing seamless access to information resources.
The motto of Central Library is to achieve the objectives of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan’s Five Laws of Library Science by fulfilling the needs of the users. These laws are:

- Every reader his/ her Book
- Every Book its reader
- Save the time of the reader
- Library is a growing organism
