Our Motto
The motto of Central Library is to achieve the objectives of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan’s Five Laws of Library Science by fulfilling the needs of the users. These laws are:

• Every reader his/ her Book.

• Save the time of the reader.
• Library is a growing organism.

To create and sustain an information environment that supports the educational Knowledge of Midnapore City College community.

• To create a good ambiance of the Central Library in order to foster the information Requirements of the users.
• To strive relentlessly to optimize the usage of library resources, to enhance the quality of library services thereby maximizing user satisfaction.

Vision of our Library
An ideal college library will be a repository of printed sources and well as electronic sources. Electronic database, Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) helps the users in getting right document/information in the least possible time. Though digital libraries offer enormous opportunities to provide more and more information in various ways and hold greater promise for improving access to seamless information, they merely supplement the traditional resources, but in no way replace the professional services rendered by the human librarian. Thus the necessity of ‘Direct personal aid within the library’ as emphasized by Rabindranath Tagore, S.R. Ranganathan, and many others still remain worthwhile even in this digital era of today and tomorrow and to the best of our effort, we provide a personal library service.
